Beyond grammatical errors and other such problems that shoujoboy has mentioned, I would like to point out that the purpose of a review is to simply outline your thoughts on a particular series in a professional and helpful manner.

Many of your sentences contain swear words, and although speech patterns such as those may be necessary in some situations, this is not. Card Captor Sakura is a shoujo-style anime directed towards the younger viewers - a review for this should not contain much of the profanities that you have written.

Another point I would like to make is that this is no space to be writing a wiki on. Whether you feel strongly about deeper controversies within the anime or not, it has nothing to do with the "very brief description of plot" that Minitokyo's reviewing template requests.

I have not read your previous work but I stand convinced that this review requires much more revision.

Great job on another review pleasing to the mind and the eye, Kururu! I love that you take the time to put in screenshots; so far, I believe you're the only one within our group.
It's great that you put in a section for "Sound," as some people tend to leave that blank.
I look forward to more of your contributions!

f

I like how you rated practically for all your sections - I'm often scolded for rating too high >.<

Great job on your first review! I look forward to your future articles.
A few points I woud like to point out: sometimes you are very casual in presenting your facts, and some people don't like that in a review. Next time, please watch for your set-up and tone.

Overall, good job. :D

f

I'll be a bit strict in my response, since I was the one who was spamming all over the place saying that I would review Code Geass one month before and suddenly you went and reviewed it. And then you called Canada crap, and I'M WRITING THIS FROM CANADA, MISTER. And Shinsengumi is quite right about Britian - British = Britannia. And the fashion style too - didn't you notice the British shoulder pads?

Okay, on to the review. I think you could have mentioned some things about character designs, as there is quite a number in the series, and there a whole wack of personalities within them. (*Like Orange-kun, for example* Ehem, such as the differences between Lelouche and Suzaku that CLAMP painstakingly tried to put across).
It's good that you mentioned the flat ending. For this you could have given Code Geass's presentation a lower score. There were much too many plots going on at once. Combined with multiple characters and excessive mecha action, it just wasn't going to work. A 2nd season just isn't good enough if they started it out like this.
Oh well...it's not as if anyone cares, since anything clamp even TOUCHES immediately goes mainstream.

And as a last note -

Quote by undefinedI dont wanna see Suzaku again.. he's really annoying..

I believe spam like that can go in the forums.

f

Hmm...I might bring down the art rating a bit if it were me, shoujoboy. Personally, I thought the clips for the ending SUCKED. Big-butt dancing...? What WAS that? And overall, it just wasn't pretty enough. But hey, the original creator was Yazawa Ai, and she's just about the Master of Pretty Fashionable Shoujo.
Thank you from the behalf of all of Minitokyo for yet another great review. (Your next one is your 30th!)

@blackrose07: Those things happen ALL the time in Japan (apparently)...if all those shoujo storylines are accurate...

f

Lol...gore, hentai, and aliens... I wouldn't have watched this series anyway XP
And good job on writing this educated rant.

f

Three's always a good number. :)

I've eyed Piano since a huge article on it came out in a Newtype USA that I bought, but never really went around to seeing it since, I mean, it's named PIANO, for god's sakes! And since it was last year, I was preoccupied with all that magical, action-packed, eye-popping anime coming out during that season.

I might want to give it a try though - sounds like a cute, breezy sort of thing you want to experience once in a while.

f

A great review - quite some talent present in this! I'm happy that you have joined the Minitokyo-Review group. You seem to possess much knowledge and reasonable opinions on this series...unfortunately I don't, since I got bored enough to quit after the first episode. I certainly agree with the two people above me - the music was the one excellent point of the series, I'm sure, since the wonderful Kajiura Yuki composed.

f

Geez, why are all the good shows bloody-gory?!?! I can't even check out the anime journals because they have screencaps of this!
Quite the interesting review - I was surprised when you gave the art a 9, but you stated your reason well.
Anyhow, this series must be really good, seeing as you gave it an overall score of 9. I want to see it!

f

Interesting... although I've never even heard of ZnT before. A great review that touches on each mentionable point of anime effectively... but also one that unfortunately tells me that ZnT is NOT an anime I might enjoy. (Girl hits guy for no reason? I hate that~! *also the reason why I gave up many series*)
If I check out the visuals and like it, I might watch it. Anyhow, another great review from you, shoujoboy!

f

Depth, depth depth.
Okay, let me tell you - falling in love with girls because of the topic of strawberry panties is NOT deep.
You appear to be highly impressed by the manga of Ichigo 100%. However, a review is where you observe all points of the object which you are reviewing, regardless of whether you enjoyed it or not. Any manga has plot twists, and it is normal for characters in a manga series to have distinct styles of hair. The next time you plan to review in this community, consider all the points and take care not to give high ratings so easily.

f

Can't agree with you more on this series!
Shana appeared to be such a great series and then it just... sunk.
Thanks again for providing such an excellent review for the community of Minitokyo!

f

Well, it was good enough to be dubbed...

f

It's very good that you reviewed for the manga of Nana instead of the recent anime, which is hardly near finished. I think it would have been good if you had brought up some more characters and how they are realistic.
Overall, a good review, although on the short side, quite descriptive and good punctuation.

f

That was a very good review, but I wouldn't say FFVII is a mound of fanservice, as there was no particular factors of it. I would agree with you on most of your points, having watched the movie, but not played the game.
I hope you'll write more reviews, seeing as this is your only one.

f

Exellent review based on good facts and what you felt about the series. However, you seem to overlook the many new relationships that are made in GSD. Overall, you seemed to know the series very well and wrote a thoughful and thought-inducing review. Good job.

f

Hanbun no -blahblah- Sora... I didn't really try watching this, but I might give this a try, from the points that you're describing. Especially good job at the Presentation section - it convinced me to watch it.

f

When I first watched this show, I quit it 10 minutes into the story, but after reading the first two paragraphs of your review, I think I want to give it a try again.
Great observation and overall review as always, shoujoboy-san.

f

First off, I suggest that you watch the whole series before writing the review for it. Something might happen near the end where you might change your view of the series, you see. Also, your grammer is a slight bit off, and it would be preferable to refrain from ending the sentence with "......" But it's good that you were able to state good things about Tsubasa Chronicles and state your view with reasons.

One suggestion: don't mention the manga in the Art section if you are reviewing for the TV version of Tsubasa Chronicles.

f

I actually have to agree with you on this one, Ky. Despite the fact that you gave it half the rating that I felt it deserved, you pointed out all the valid bad points of the show, which makes it a realistic review.
One question: Is there ANY anime that you like?

f

Unfortunately, I will have to disagree with you on all your ratings. The art cannot be called excellent in my view. Not even the greatest anime should be given 10 as a rating in their Art, and Ichigo 100% is most definitely not the greatest anime in the world. While you might have enjoyed the anime, you should focus more on what the anime might seem to the general audience, as well as give a fair rating that compares it to other anime series. How can you give 9 for a series that bases a story on a pair of strawberry-patterened panties?
You mention that Ichigo 100% brings up the scene of normal school life, but have you ever even experienced Japanese school life before? I haven't, but I know for sure that girls with pretty underwear don't go after normal looking guys all at the same time.
Also, when you are writing a review, please make sure to have at least decent grammar and capitalize your sentences.
I'm sorry if I'm being a bit harsh, but a review like this will give the reader a completely different view of the series.

f

Yes, the "Mai" endings are quite happyful... I was actually enraged with the huge picnic party ending for the Hime series, so I've gathered that the series producers like to give the viewers a sugary-sweet ending with a good feel. Although most parts of it never make sense.

f

Thank you for your comments! Since Lamune is very unknown throughout the anime fans here, I wanted to write a review on it to tell this community about it, but no one was commenting ;_; so I was worried.

f

Yeah, it does - I wrote a new review about that anime after watching it recently.
